My AnchorThe waves move by so quickly, the world so like a dove. my memories call out meekly, to the time when we knew love.
Those words so gaily given, the laughter so well spent, I knew you like no other, and I found a place to vent.

Fleeting Excitement I looked up, trying to shade my eyes from the glowing sun. Seagulls frolicked in the pure blue sky, their cries mingling with the rumble of passing cars. Tracing a crack in the sidewalk, I slouched against a low hanging terrace. I felt a jab in my side, and turned to see my friend Alice. "Hey, Jake."

Long Lost Existence At first, nothing existed. No life, no love, no reality. But there was one thought. A thought that said: "nothing exists." And of course, that thought didn't exist either. Then, out of the nothingness, came dry winds full of cold nothingness. Winds with nothing to blow and nothing to change. Yet within the folds of winds was the slightest hint of an idea. A remnant of something long gone. An idea that no language existed to communicate. It was:
"Do you have your own world?"

Suboordinate Mice-menHappenstance on left and front, The fates are here to take the brunt. For all the toes that cross the line, we'll be waiting to pay the fine.
Lest you gain a wrong intention, We are not some strange invention. Don't take advantage of the fate brigade, lest you want your actions to wither and fade.
Hullabaloo and Tippecanoe, This verse makes no sense lest you've eaten fondue.
This poem reminds me of Dr Seuss, and I need to go elsewhere, to break the foot-loose.

FakeFriends - Never ask for food.
Real Friends - Are the reasons you have no food.

Fake Friends - Call your parents Mr/Mrs.
Real Friends - Call your parents Dad/Mum.

Fake Friends - Bail you out of jail and tell you what you did was wrong.
Real Friends - Would sit next to you saying "Damn ... we messed up ... but that was fun!"

Fake Friends - Never seen you cry.
Real Friends - Cry with you.

Fake Friends-Think your quiet.
Real Friends-Wish you'd stop talking!

Fake Friends - Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back.
Real Friends - Keep your stuff so long they forget its yours.

Fake Friends - Know a few things about you.
Real Friends - Could write a book about you with direct quotes from you.

Fake Friends - Will leave you behind if that is what the crowd is doing.
Real Friends - Will kick the whole crowds buts that left you.

Fake Friends - Would knock on your front door.
Real Friends - Walk right in and say "I'M HOME!"

Fake Friends - Are for a while.
Real Friends - Are for life.

Fake Friends - Will take your drink away when they think you've had enough.
Real Friends - Will look at you stumbling all over the place and say "drink the rest of that you know we don't waste."

Fake Friends - Will help you up when you fall over.
Real Friends - Will push you over again & crack up at you.
